Forcing pedestrians to cross at intersections was fucking disgusting in the first place.

Would you rather cross (a) in the middle of a two lane street without a crosswalk but with full awareness of the direction/speed of traffic, or (b) at an intersection where you're expected to trust every single lunatic to obey signals and not crush you with their car/truck/whatever, simultaneously stay aware of traffic in 6 different directions (beside you, behind you, in front of you, and the side lanes that impatient retards use for blindly turning), and finally -- be required to run across the damned street because whoever sets up these fucking things always make the signal only last 20% of the minimum time it takes to actually cross safely.

If you value your life, don't use crosswalks.
