Hmm, so I'm having a little trouble getting mail to work from GNU social. For now, I want to just use Gmail's SMTP server just to make sure I get the configuration down, and then eventually move it to my own server.

I tried adding the necessary mail config values to config.php, but I don't seem to be receiving any mail. This is what I have in config.php: http://pastebin.com/iyjE0xVV

As for how I'm testing the config, I'm just heading over to my user page > email, cancelling the email confirm, and re-submitting it. I'm not sure if httpd or anything else needs restarted/reset between tests. !selfhost
