I don't like sending a bunch of salmon slaps everywhere, but the amount is reasonably limited I think. But I think the number of redundant slaps grows along a thread's hierarchy, which is possibly undesirable in long, diverse conversations. (where it would be preferrable to know beforehand if a notice has been distributed to a certain node or not, but that mechanism isn't available afaik)
