@chc4 Your phone _does_ ask if you want to add GPS location data to the pictures. If it doesn't, you should stop using it altogether.

I don't think it's a priority to remove EXIF tags since the default behaviour should be to leave data as untouched as possible. I have multiple use-cases where I want to publish and then harvest location data from uploaded pictures.

I agree it could be an option to remove it, but then we'd have to parse, remove, and put it back in (since I assume you don't argue we should remove metadata about flash, exposure, direction etc. etc?)

Should we remove lat+lon, or lat+lon+alt? Are you really arguing that an image we copy from Wikimedia Commons should be destroyed and manipulated because we re-upload it on !GNUsocial?
