@lrockhq Nevertheless, more people on the planet means a larger footprint on the ecosystem. And meat has a much larger footprint than anything else we consume for food (except perhaps rice, depending on what you're accounting for). The fact that the meat business (except that one farmer somewhere) is so careless about its impact on the environment is reason enough to stop supporting it until it starts behaving rationally and with a perspective of more than its coming year's profit margins.
Consumer power, if it exists, must be exerted. If we don't stop buying meat, we continue supporting all that is wrong with the industry.
Regardless of whether we know what pain is (which we do, medically) and whether it affects other animals too (which we know, empirically) ;)
