@verius Well, yes and no.  In general a well-functioning community can just live and let live.  To use an expression, it "doesn't sweat the small stuff."  Which is why many reactionaries and activist communities are not well-functioning community.

For instance, you and I have agreed on some things and disagreed on others, in discussing politics or personal views, but it doesn't stop us from working together because we're find with and accepting of the fact that we don't have to agree 100% with someone to work with them.  Whereas in many of these "progressive" or "inclusive" programming project groups, any disagreement at all on their pet topics becomes a major conflict.
