@moonman I have no patience for either side in that debate to be honest.  People insist on being identified in completely ridiculous ways and use the rigid enforcement of non-standard pronouns as a way to exert petty authority over others and are quite nasty about misidentification, and meanwhile many individuals intentionally misgender others to rebel against that authoritarian streak and along the way malign many well-meaning transpeople who just want recognized as their chosen gender.
