@purplehippo @1iceloops123 @sulman Thing is, thats what ALL these sites do.  And honestly, if they didn't have pretentions to being better, I wouldn't give a fuck about that aspect.  But they don't have a leg to stand on if they are banging on about being so much better while doing the same kind of shit people hated in the old guard, IMO.

It's why I shitcanned ALL advertising.  The main HLA site did briefly have one for a few months when it first started (and I keep the advertising policy I had then up for historical reference), but I quickly found that to actually make money with that kind of advertising on that kind of site you have to do a lot of shit I was not prepared to do like the quadruple dipping and all that tracking bullshit, so I got rid of it and went purely to subscriptions.  This was a huge risk at the time I thought, but I can't say it hasn't worked out given I'm making a living off of it.  A minimal one below the poverty line, but one nonetheless.
