A lot of the technology in Deus Ex: Human Revolution is much better than it was in the original Deus Ex, which it is supposed to be a PREquel to.
For instance, consider the holographic technology.
Here's Paul Denton, towards the end of the game (mild spoiler I guess), in a hologram: https://community.highlandarrow.com/attachment/87710
In Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you have the news reporter Eliza in a hologram, and its supposedly indistinguishable from actual humans, and indeed, the scene has the protagonist end up waving a hand through the air to communicate that yes, she's a hologram: https://community.highlandarrow.com/attachment/87711
You're not going to tell me that somehow hologram technology used by something like UNATCO, which is obstensibly very well-funded, and then something also used in Area 51, which is supposedly the location of the most advanced research in the world at the time, has poorer tech than news media.
