@takeshitakenji @moonman @archaeme The only reason nowadays to use MySQL is the "plug and play" aspect (which, to be fair, is a valid consideration) - if you just want to knock up something quickly than MySQL is the way to go.

But if anything else is your consideration Postgres or for large deployments 12c w.ODBC are probably the way to go.

I really don't like using 12c, but I can't really deny that it has pretty solid performance even under very heavy enterprise grade loads.
