@takeshitakenji In general you want contacts with the best electrical condutivity.  Brass is actually best if you go for "premium" things.

Gold is actually better than steel for electrical conductivity, but most metals involved in electronics are.  If the contacts are copper, or brass, you might actually be downgrading it with gold, but if they're aluminum or steel, its an upgrade.

But the thing is, modern electronics are going to detect the increased resistance and it isn't going to impede actual operation, just make it more expensive to operate since itll put more juice through the same contact to get the power it needs.
