Skepticism of all claims is important.  Indeed, it is even more important to be skeptical of claims that we wish to believe, because if we wish to believe those things, then we are more likely to be taken.  And those whom are younger, that do not have a body of negative experiences that have taught them that people will use the unsuspecting, are thus less likely to challenge things.  We must teach ourselves to be skeptical when there is no harm in being wrong, or we will not be skeptical when there IS harm in being wrong, and then you end up with, well, the current US political situation.
