Free association is something the alarmists anti-Trump people don't like at all, nor do progressives.  You should be forced to associate with everyone they want you to.  I reject this notion.

And for that matter, I'm perfectly okay with someone thinking I'm weird, strange, stupid, or deranged, for being lesbian, as long as they are doing so in a personal capacity and not a professional one, and don't harass me with that views.

The more you push away a view from being discussed, the more violent and acerbic those whom ascribe to it become.  The more you marginalize and dehumanize people, the more they get desperate and hurt.  This wasn't okay when people did it to me, and it's not okay to do it to people whom don't like me either.
