I already put Rutabaga in the “to be replaced” pile. Today’s experience reinforces that. I may try putting PuppyLinux or something similar on it to see if that can extend its lifetime, but that’s just a temporary bridge, IMO.

(I can use it for commandline stuff, but if something calls xdg-open and pops up a browser, the laptop usually becomes unusable within a few minutes.)

I’m of the opinion that this would have been called a netbook ten years or so ago, but browsers and websites are so heavyweight these days that it is more of an “anything but the net” book.
