I suspect that the old formulas used isopropyl alcohol, but the new formulas may use ethyl alcohol, the same ingredient that is in beer / wine / vodka. If you'll notice, nearly every package is some previously unknown brand. As I said, this is all 'suspicion and speculation', as I am not a hand sanitizer expert.

(Despite the dry skin on my hands from so much handwashing and sanitizing.)
