Many years ago, I attended an Indycar race in SoCal (the California 500). I enjoyed it, but it was way too long. I don't follow auto racing at all, but I think I might want to see another Indycar event in person. From what I remember of seeing Formula 1 on TV, that might be okay also.
As for NASCAR, that's never held much attraction. I think most of my exposure to that came from a former roommate who suddenly became a fan of Dale Earnhart Jr after Sr died. The fans seemed to embody a lot of the things about the American South that I find distasteful.
So I do wonder whether they'll have the courage to enforce their recently announced "no Confederate flags" rule. ( https://nu.federati.net/url/270406 [www reuters com] /via @geniusmusing )
