I just tried the Carl’s Jr “spicy western bacon cheeseburger”. I give it a 3 out of 5. I will likely order again, but probably not on my next visit.

Bun, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise, bacon, jalapeño slices, American cheese, beef patty, onion rings. Meet is charbroiled, so has a smoky flavor. Nice flavor overall. I’d prefer a little more BBQ sauce (which is a rare thing for me to say), and a few more jalapeño slices. The drive-through line was pretty long, so the onion rings being a little soggy is completely understandable.

Fun fact: a former Carl’s Jr general manager told me that they used to call the onion rings on the western bacon cheeseburger “spurs”.

I had a coupon, but otherwise, this is an expensive burger (over $5.00/each).

The company that owns this chain also owns Hardees, so you may check your nearest location to see whether they have a similar product.
