One of my brothers is trying to organize a weekly family-wide videochat. He's pretty much only interested in using Zoom.

I, on the other hand, only recently heard of Zoom, and much of what I've seen is about their history of privacy and security holes, as well as anti-privacy "features" they've intentionally implemented (such as attention tracking). Because of this, I have said I don't want to use Zoom or to endorse it to less tech-savvy family members.

I've suggested Jitsi Meet as an alternative, but he seems completely uninterested in any alternatives. I have not said _I am not using Zoom and I will not participate if you choose it_, because I do agree with the end goal of improving family communication.

It has been almost two weeks that we've been having this discussion. Perhaps he's going to just create an account and send out Zoom meeting invites anyway.
