"Corporatism" is a return to Mercantilism, when the way to become wealthy was to obtain the king's favor (and assistance, either actively or by ignoring your actions and the complaints / protests your actions generate) and setting up a monopoly, then expanding the monopoly through subsidized exports. It has little to do with free markets, which require active intervention to prevent one party from gaining "market power", the ability to unilaterally set prices, terms, conditions.
