@moonman @1iceloops123 @jeffcliff That's exactly what Civil Service is supposed to prevent. No matter how good (or bad) the executive is, they are prevented from firing all the people who were already working in government and replacing them with their own people. There are political appointees, but they are a small fraction of the 1.3 million federal employees.

(And, yes, long-term bureaucrats are a large part of why we've had at least three consecutive ineffective administrations.)
