That actually happened at a place I worked. I was the shift manager on duty at the time, too.

My reaction was to shut down the playground. I was not about to ask my subordinates to do something I would not.

We were also slammed that whole weekend, so it was completely understandable that I "did not have the staff available" to clean it. And, yes, I felt bad for the person on the next shift that got assigned to clean it.
