On Friday, a guy at work asked my opinion of a laptop he intended to purchase. When he showed me this $3,000 MacBook Pro, I asked what he planned to use it for. "Browsing the web and watching movies" ... I said you're paying way too much for what you intend to do. But then he told me that it is replacing an expensive gaming laptop he bought a few years ago. I didn't ask (I should have) whether he played games with the old laptop. IMO, he should not have asked my opinion, since he'd already made up his mind to spend all that money.
