@gargron @nds As I've spent time in the US South, I'm starting to realize that protesting comes with costs. If there were no costs, there would be no need to protest.

Many civil rights marchers in the # and # were attacked with dogs, firehoses, bullets, billy clubs. In the process, the # undercurrent of # was exposed to the world and horrified voters demanded federal intervention. Perhaps pipeline protesters need to make a similar case to voters -- and to the agencies and courts that permitted the construction -- in order to see their desired results.
