i try not to be negative or confrontational. but i kind of want to tell @mashable a few things: 1) i was a fan of your content before !gnusocial & the rise of the !fediverse & i still appreciate most of what y'all make & do. 2) i have blocked your notices here because i already know your url and prefer to visit when i damn well feel like it. 3) i'm involved heavily in a lot of gnu, fsf & alt open-source projects, ostatus & its children included, and now, every time i consider the whole # movement, i also think "boy, f'ck all those non-people who use # to force their content into our eyelines" ... i'm sorry to single out mashable as there are others i've had to block for the same reason, but none that i had already held to a high standard of web-based-coolness. i write this to make you aware of how i assume non-person accounts make me (and i assume some others) feel about whatever is behind them.
