Maybe someone from !GNUSocial can help me?

I see that if I unset in "Settings" the option "Make updates visible only to my followers" my post will appear in the public timeline (so visible by everyone in the web, without having an account on gnusocial); but not only what I post but everything, even if I start to follow someone! I think this kind of information should not be visible. Is there a way to avoid this behaviour ? Moreover: if I change my name the old posts remain labelled with the old name... shouldn't it change everywhere? Thanks!
