I bumped into my friend Kelly last night on the way home.
Kelly is a homeless woman - maybe early 40's in age. She live on the streets around Sheffield. I haven't seen her for a while.
She seemed in quite a good mood. Carrying her life around in a carrier bag and rucksack and begging as usual.
Whilst we chatted, I noticed she has injured her right eye. I asked her how it was. She is blind in it now. She needs a corneal transplant. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cornea-transplant/
I am not a medical expert but reading the NHS article this sounds not a complicated operation, but, considering her circumstances, not something that would have a good chance of success, without other changes.
She was shot at last year (by accident I believe! ) https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/gunman-on-the-run-after-shooting-man-and-woman-in-sheffield-296320
