Used to make breadcrumbs by pounding petrified bread with the bottom of a sturdy glass. Lots of time and effort, lumpy results. Then tried using a cheese grater to grate petrified bread into a bowl. Reasonably good results, still lots of manual effort. Then used the chopping blade in the food processor, which made a combination of bread dust and bread gravel more than bread crumbs. Also lots of cleanup -- bread dust everywhere! Just tried using the grater disc on the food processor. Scarily fast, great results, almost no cleanup. Bread crumb heaven!
