I just read the section on fast exponentiation. Its explained much clearer here than the #udacity #crypto !mooc where I first saw it explained. It really is a good book for someone without a math background who wants to pick up the fundamentals in a rigerous way -

It's got sections on historical !crypto which lay a firm mathematical foundation, but easily read. For me it's moving gently and clearly to a discussion of RSA ... Though I've not got that far in yet. -

I'm dont have a metric I can apply that gives me the value of a post, or of a subscriber. We occasionally recieve requests to delete content ( mostly related to occupy) which is ignored. -

I'm pretty sure that anybody with basic math can do these things. It's an entry level course, but too a complicated discipline. Some simple probability. Understanding of remainders. I don't think what cryptographers do is math though... It just looks like it in places. -

The Debian administration article mentions a phased transition to a new key over 3 months. Getting your new key signed by the old one. Attending key signings to get it integrated into the WoT, and contacting people who's keys you've signed to check they are still in control of their keys so you can recertify them with your new key. -
