   @hybotics Yeah Ive noticed it has a tendency to do this.  I half the cvosts of this dedicated server with another site and they run Friendica.  It runs really well for a while, and then blows up.  They're on their third one now, heh.

    @hybotics Eh, there are deficiencies, but people also complain a lot over nothing too.  It's the most popular FOSS network for a reason - it does a lot of things right.  Still, the effort to modernize it is why I forked it into postActiv

    @hybotics postActiv is my baby.  I forked it from GNU social and have been working out problems and things I want to add since then.  Been at it for .. a good few months now :)  Mastodon is actually newer :)

    user writes notice --> server ---> redis cache --> federation queue handler --> rest of the world
    
    So for local front-end you can poke the redis cache, and you could do that for frontends to the instance run remotely as well.

    @hybotics I've been living with untenable housemates for a while, just because having a landlord thats understanding of my situation is so rare I don't really want to give it up.  The other people renting in here are not great, though.

    @hybotics I'm just lucky that thusfar public health has covered the "training" prosthetic.  Hopefully I can get some sort of assistance with the longer-term one.  I'm still waiting for a decision on that three months on now, if not longer.  Government bureaucracy is great.

    @hybotics I am very blessed to have found enough people whom support me to write on video games for a living now, as much as man, I've had a varied life leading up to now to say the least.  It's something I'm tremendously grateful for, especially since it allows me to work from home with the leg being as it is, and also lets me use my free time to contribute to FOSS…
