The problem I ran into is I just have so much old crap that's half taken to bits but valuable even just for the components, so onto some cheap wood shelving it goes. It's better than half over every floor and countertop like it was presently anyways. I just wish I had time to get some proper flooring in before I'm down there, but I don't want to pay two rents and … -

I wonder how many people are going to instantly assume I'm some sort of criminal hacker if they see how I have the basement set up. It's pretty much half racks of electronic and electrical testing equipment and parts, and half living area and computer stuff. And mostly the latter in that part.
Maybe I should set up one monitor to just spew the snort log for extra movie-hacker-ness. -

@verius @nerthos Perhaps this is why we romanticise the ones where there was true and compelling reason to go to war. It absolves our collective feelings of guilt over the ones that have ultimately served only to mollify our own faltering conscience. -

@verius Influence? No - they have influence. But they have that position only because they parrot what people want to hear; which is why people turn so quickly on the dissenting voices.
So yes, they have influence, but only when they consent to be part of the feedback loop. -

@gameragodzilla They're the bad guys. But I did play as a decker who was a former RKS member.
When you're calling yourself a "kill squad", you probably aren't the protagonists in that game world. -

@nerthos There is a lot of corruption in the media, but ultimately, it is only a reflection of society as a whole, and that's the problem. We rail on the corruption evident in the media or the big organizations like the Democrats, without realizing that there are many, many people to play in any such organized and large corruption scandal. We seek for singular sc… -

@nerthos So much of the US government at this point exists to service the need of multinationals, so much so that it has openly neglected the people that it is sworn to serve. -

How much money and lives have they spent in messing with other countries' bussiness, and yet they won't protect their own people.
