   @dolus It's a bit .. what should I say? scary is not the word, but they are really pushing visual studio hard now, Unreal engine has it, unity has it and now they buy xamarin. So soon 'everyone' will be using visualstudio for everything (and yes - I know you can opt out of VS in unreal engine \ unity, but the defaults installs it, so as you know - most people just install defaults and get that included.).

   Tonight I'm doing gamedev stuff. I'm getting a map from openstreetmap, then I want to turn that data into a game level. I want to drive around on the roads created from the map data.

   Anyone of you with a #hyperboria #cjdns node that can give me some access? It's been a long time since I ran it, and it seems the node I had is down. I want to run it full time and set it up with my meshnet hardware (two nanostation m5's)

   I'm working on a open source render engine for 3dsmax ( I'm the only developer currently), and I've been struggling with the meshes for weeks, been the most frustrating thing I've ever developed, I did get help the last few days on a 3dsmax dev forum, so now tonight it finally works.
   I was able to render out some complex meshes without any issues.

   Currently I'm using google maps, but I'm going to add openStreetmap as a option. Right now there is just a button you press that opens google maps externally at the selected 'crag'. I'll add a dialog there that lets you choose the default application to use. I might also integrate the map directly into the application, if I do then I'll integrate OpenStreetMap and not google maps…

    Windows build of #yaics will be uploaded tomorrow, It seems like all dependencies and such is fixed, now I just have to fix the icon for the exe file and get it ready (know issue with mingw).

    There is no pre-compiled binaries yet.
    I was hoping to get builds up on either Open Build service, or something similar so that we can provide ready packages for major distributions easily.
    It's being worked on.

    I just love this whole GNU free software movement. It's mind-boggling to think about the amount of hours being put into all of it for free. Also the technology you can set up and build for free is amazing.
