So much for an early Friday. We hit debris in the commuter lane and blew out the rear right tire. 35 minutes to get a tow across the street. Waiting at a Chevy dealer for new tire. Should be out if here in another 30 minutes. Turned into a long commute thanks to that debris. -

Steve Weinberg on SciFri now, talking about very fresh results showing that dark matter might interact even less with itself than thought. Neat! Jodi, Dan, and Steve together are up next... -

Pretty nervous for Jodi's interview on SciFri today. I know she'll do great, but I'm allowed to be a worried spouse... just cuz... Interview/Panel Discussion starts in 20 minutes. -

OK, so here are the takeaways from this NPR story: 1) LANL was the source of the problem, not WIPP, but WIPP seems to be getting all the blame. 2) "Organic" does not mean "good" or "better". http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2015/03/26/395615637/official-report-nuclear-waste-accident-caused-by-wrong-kitty-litter?utm_medium=RSS -

From .html: "Neutrons, protons, and electrons - these are the basic building blocks of matter. But this kind of matter is only a tiny fraction of the entire universe. The rest, about 95 percent, in fact, is divided between dark matter and dark energy. Understanding what makes up dark matter and dark energy could help answer some of the biggest questions in physics. Physici… -

Long but good day. Had a great time at UT-Dallas giving the physics colloquium today. But, alas, I will need to work late to catch up before class tomorrow.
