Seems to be mostly the pots that are busted actually, but they're kind of weird, and apparently structurally important :) !umehack !elektronik https://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/171688 -

pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Apr-2017 12:58:27 EDT pettter ✅ @indecisivetwat @b_cavello This doesn't _really_ make sense on a code level, but in GNU Social and the rest of the Fediverse there's these things called Groups which is similar, in some sense. You join a group like !tzag, or !makita , and then when you tag in the group (with the bang) the post goes to any and all members of the group, no matter if they follow you o… -

Good vibes and memories :)

The director of the festival (@dubber) is actually here in the fediverse since a few days back :) -
pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Wednesday, 05-Apr-2017 08:11:43 EDT pettter ✅ So, for all you new users, there's this OStatus thing called "groups", which is indicated with a bang ( ! ), where you can follow, say, a topic (music, security, crypto, games and whatnot), or a specific thing (emacs, coffee etc.), or even a greeting (the tzag group for Time Zone Appropriate Greetings), regardless of who posts about it. It's a pretty powerful tool, a… -
pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Monday, 03-Apr-2017 17:31:23 EDT pettter ✅ Repeating my idea that DMs in OStatus could be solved using a XMPP server run in parallell with the same user DB. Two users following each other would be subscribed in XMPP lingo. Discovery of servers through .well-known or the DNS SRV records.
OMEMO on the messages gives end-to-end encryption. BOSH and any of the JS libraries in-browser messaging capabilities. -
pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Tuesday, 14-Feb-2017 15:39:15 EST pettter ✅ @gargron In particular, the "spoiler tag"-like thing you've got listed there is the <category term="nsfw"> thing, which is a much more reasonable idea imo. -
pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Tuesday, 14-Feb-2017 15:15:07 EST pettter ✅ @gargron You have a very weird way of using atom:summary as a "spoiler tag" in my opinion. I can sort of see the reasoning for it, but it's wildly out of touch with the original spec, and have _very_ weird effects when users start using it in creative ways (see e.g. @jephjacques joke-stuff) and it doesn't interoperate properly. Considering its use in the above instanc… -

pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Friday, 09-Dec-2016 18:52:22 EST pettter ✅ Digital is shit. Just had to save a gig from disaster by loaning my 11-channel crappy analog mixer to the big band when the Behringer X32 Rack gave up on getting any input signal on any of the channels. Yeah that didn't exactly fit all the winds. Ended up just running song, piano, guitar, bass and bass drum through the PA. Not the best we've sounded but we made it through the gig at least.
KISS applies in all things. -
pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Monday, 31-Oct-2016 18:08:58 EDT pettter ✅ Another Monday, another evening doing music hack stuff at !umehack. Not so much new things got done today, but figured out a few issues with the sync patch.
Also jammed a bit, got something darkish going. Completely computerless, again, with just a PO-12, and an EA-1, Axoloti for sync, all run through a small shitty amp and recorded on the phone. Lo-fi as fuck. !musicians https://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/107624 -
pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Monday, 24-Oct-2016 15:45:45 EDT pettter ✅ Todays music hack setup. Axoloti+PO-12+EA-1 for sound. MPK mini for playing one part of the Axoloti patch (the other is translating MIDI clock from the EA-1 to clock signal for the PO-12). Sound routed through everything to end up on the EA-1 output, into a guitar amp.
Pretty nice on the whole, I'll see if I can't make a ugly phone-recorded sample for upload. !musicians https://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/106096 -

Perhaps extra relevant for UK people who apparently are supposed to help their government make a database of 'foreign workers'. Including registering schoolchildren. -
pettter ✅ (pettter)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Sep-2016 09:33:27 EDT pettter ✅ I would argue it illustrates more specifically the dangers of FPTP and two-party politics in general, and an abdication of responsibility in favour or money on the publics part in particular. Democracy requires an informed electorate and fair and transparent voting systems, and this can be achieved either by excluding 'uninformed' people according to some criteria, or … -
