steve (steve)'s status on Saturday, 25-Jan-2014 11:19:11 EST steve In case any of you use a Fitbit in conjunction with Loseit.com, and you Fitbit has stopped communicating with Loseit through their API, don't panic. It's a known problem and Loseit is working this weekend to fix it. @jodi was affected, and others on Twitter reported the problem, and the company is aware of it. You can follow them in Twitter to find out when it's fixed. -

steve (steve)'s status on Friday, 24-Jan-2014 23:26:06 EST steve Hmmm. Question for you, @Evan Prodromou: is there a limit to how far back in my "Favorites" list I can go in pump.io? I notice that in Pumpa and in the Web UI, I can only go back so far, and both clients stop at the same message. Just curious. -
steve (steve)'s status on Friday, 24-Jan-2014 20:02:57 EST steve I thought I just caught a glimpse of something fiery falling from the sky, roughly on a Northwest direction from Allen, TX. Could have just been an optical trick - it happened very fast. But if anyone sees reports of a meteor over Texas or Oklahoma, let me know! -

steve (steve)'s status on Friday, 24-Jan-2014 09:43:33 EST steve XKCD beautifully explains today why, when we ignore data, we mistake this cold winter for something that indicates an "end" to global warming; rather, the data says we should be shocked that this kind of winter doesn't happen more often. #cfb3333 http://xkcd.com/1321 -
steve (steve)'s status on Friday, 24-Jan-2014 08:49:52 EST steve Another early day. We got up before 6am and grabbed breakfast by campus. I have a bunch of little things to do before class (had a few students drop and a few student enter the course - today is the last day for such things without penalty). I have some more code bugs to track down and some analysis questions to answer. So early is good. -
