@Gargron there are already a few ADN refugees that made there way over to mastodon.social, I plan to drop a few posts there before the plug is pulled promoting the fediverse as a whole including GNU social and Mastodon. -

@bobjonkman What would "solve" this is to have a verifiable "moved" verb that informs subscribers that there is a new home for the group. Right now that's handled manually - or should I say: socially ;) -

@bobjonkman Why should groups work like that while accounts don't?
Technically I don't see it happening because it won't work with how the web works. You'd have no guarantee whatsoever that the group you're following actually has all posts because all instances "sharing" it could have different policies.
What should be done is rather to make it clearer that it's !newgroup@example.com rather than just !newgroup. -

@einebiene Today I went bicycling to pick up a package and swimming. I had more blueberry soup and a dumpstersmoothie, plus enough cucumber/paprika on sandwiches to count as a serving. Lastly I've been playing with some cheap handheld spectrum analyzer as a personal project.
A much better !januarychallenge than yesterday. -

If you're just going to use Amazon's storage API and similar, there are tons and tons of alternatives and self-hosting alternatives. There's for example a 100TB storage farm just outside of #Umeå accessible via S3 API and OpenStack technology! cc: @mikael -
