@rysiek Yeah I tried to implement Diaspora's protocol and it ended up with subscription possibilities (for example, I am subscribed to your D* profile) but no way to reply because their barely-Salmon implementation was just incomprehensible. -

@kevinmarks The reason I think so is because of your devotion to indieweb stuff and federated identities. It's a good motivational factor to implement such features! I'm keeping it in mind all the time, though not nearly as much as I want to do actually gets done. -

@pettter In the case of e2e-credentials stored on computers with other admins than me, I am less concerned with admins reading my communication and more concerned with stray backups, stolen machines etc. which someone else finds lying around and can thus impersonate me with digital perfection. -

@grimsdottir Mostly I think because there's been PR work done with writing articles for various popular tech sites. Also most of the stuff written is more of a "this is how awesome it is" rather than sluggishly walking along thinking "meh, we think it should do its job and we're not trying to take over the world". Plus of course using all the hip languages and buzzword… -

@aral Yeah, feed as feed. They're all translatable into each other anyway given that they're Activity Streams (and !GNUsocial for example delivers both .as and .atom since there's a simple method to call for output-formatting a stream).
As you probably understood, my point was more regarding public availability without authorisation. .) -

I hope @gargron does this too, but #Mastodon has a somewhat privacy-through-obscurity perspective on what to make easily available and what you have to script together to get a full picture of. -

@stigatle Sorry, age was published as well (39 years, so that part matches). But still no source material for identity and even less so for the supposed IS connection. I'll have a look at Flashback.
Of course there's a likelihood that it's the case, but nothing should be taken for granted. In Norway that's what "everyone" thought until it suddenly happened to be a white, blonde Norwegian nationalist. ;) -
