I once helped set up a #Usenet node connected with UUCP. Usenet was available to anyone who had bandwidth and storage. It was much later when people with bandwidth and storage started charging people who only had news clients... -

And to answer my own question, with R=3.8E7 then the current at the start was 30V/R = about 0.8 uA, and at the end 13V/R = about 0.3 uA -

@steve@chirp.cooleysekula.net That's a lovely analysis! If the leakage could be due to the dielectric's resistance, wouldn't the observed leakage be due to *both* that and the leakage through air? Then the calculated resistance would be that of dielectric and air in parallel... -

I've been more of an #OpenNMS guy up to recently. But the old (PIII 700 MHz) box that was running OpenNMS couldn't keep up with the #Java engine requirements, and so that box (hostname "roddenberry") has been sent off to #ComputerRecycling -

If #Microsoft !Windows continues to improve itself until it is entirely GNU+Linux compatible, then the !ReactOS folks could head them off at the pass and just merge in the Linux kernel now. #NotGonnaHappen #IHopeThatsNotGonnaHappen -

Remind me of the math. How much current can you pull from a 22000uF capacitor with 64V on it? -

I've been promising to set up a #GNUsocial instance for !KWLUG, but I may investigate !Friendica instead. You up for a tag-team demo of Friendica for @KWLUG? -

@xj9@social.heldscal.la I remember CTRL+R and CTRL+T being used to start and stop a teleprinter I used WAY long ago, but Wikipedia tells me that XON and XOFF flow control was actually CTRL+Q and CTRL+S (all four keystrokes correspond to Device Control 1-4 in ASCII). Maybe my teleprinter was non-standard. But to answer your question, I don't really know. I was just passing on an in… -

I feel like if this had been written as an SF short story in 1995, it probably would have won a Hugo award: http://veekaybee.github.io/facebook-is-collecting-this/ -

ericxdu23@loadaverage.com I've got the non-i9300 Galaxy SIII, and it has a GSM radio. I'm hesitant to try !Replicant on it, for fear of creating a brick -

@andersbateva@quitter.se But to actually answer your question, no, I don't know of any #GNUsocial instance with a (working) 2-way #Twitterbridge. -

My instance sn.jonkman.ca is supposed to have a two-way #Twitterbridge, but inbound (T->SN) mysteriously stopped working about a year after I set it up. The other instance on the same shared server, s.russwurm.org lost comms in both directions. One of these days I'll try purging the Twitterbridge-related tables in the DB, and see if that clears things up. -

I hope a !Replicant spin for the Galaxy SIII (domestic variant) becomes available soon. Bought the GSIII specifically because it's listed on the Replicant supported devices page, but then found only the International flavour of the GSIII (i9300) is supported.
