   I'm thinking of getting a manual one with a "warm" setting and building an outboard timer with a servo that flips the knob at the right time

   I'm thinking about a programmable one because most recipes call for 7-8 hours cooking time and I'm usually away at least 8.5 hours a day

   I prefer a script I can edit, or look at to see what settings are being used. init scripts have always worked well for me.
