Reopening
SAFELY
Over the past several weeks, County residents have demonstrated remarkable patience in following stay-at-home mandates and other measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. We’re pleased to report, cautiously, that we have largely achieved our goal of “flattening the curve” in the rate of new infections. This has given our public health and healthcare systems a chance to ramp up testing, obtain supplies of personal protective equipment, and prepare for a potential future surge in new patients.
As we begin to carefully reopen our County, it is important to remember that the virus is still with us, so we need to continue taking steps to ensure our own safety as well as that of our friends, neighbors, employees, co-workers, customers and others.
To assist in this effort, the County has provided a variety of tools and guidelines that businesses and others can take to operate safely. In addition, the Board of Supervisors is devoting $30 million to help small businesses through a newly established COVID-19 Compliant Business Partnership program. The new program offers financial assistance and other benefits to businesses that take the necessary steps to prevent the spread of infection among employees and customers. Click here to learn more about the program.
We are proud of the strong spirit of community shown by our County residents, and confident you will continue to do what is necessary to keep us all healthy. Thank you for your consideration and support.
Getting ready to reopen your business?
Businesses are encouraged to complete a Reopening Plan, for each business location if applicable. Utilize the Reopening Plan as a guide for staff training and education. It’s encouraged that businesses post the Reopening Plan onsite near the front entryway in a location that is visible and accessible to both staff and customers as a way to demonstrate compliance with State and County safety guidelines. Lastly, all businesses should review the plan on a regular basis to ensure that it remains current as guidance is adjusted by the State and County.

ECONOMIC RECOVERY
Dashboard
The County’s COVID-19 dashboard can be viewed on either a computer or mobile device. It offers a detailed snapshot of the virus’s impact across the County, with regularly updated data provided by the California Disease Reporting and Surveillance System. Dashboard information includes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths, segmented by demographic data (age, sex, ethnicity, geographic location); testing locations; and a “hospital census” showing local rates of hospital and ICU admissions, along with the local inventory of ventilators.
Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The hotline is NOT for medical calls. If you are feeling sick, please contact your health care providers or 9-1-1. If you have questions about social services, please call 2-1-1.
PREVENTION
Symptoms
Other symptoms may also include chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain or aches, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell. People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and may have had contact with a person with COVID-19, or recently traveled to countries with apparent community spread, call your health care provider before seeking medical care so that appropriate precautions can be taken.
