@aroque@gnusocial.no hey, man. When's the next !hackfest ? :)
-
Here is a brief and hopefully not too technical summary of what got fixed during the first !gnusocial !hackfest https://git.gnu.io/aroque/gnu-social/wikis/GnuSocialHackfest2015. I hope I didn't miss anything, if so I'll amend. All these changes are still in the nightly branch, and some still have to be merged, so please be patient!

The dust haven't settled yet in the !gnusocial repo after the !hackfest :-) I'll send you a summary of what happend by the end of the week.

I don't have as much time for the !hackfest today, as I'm doing some urban activism and creating green spaces in downtown #Umeå

Good morning !fediverse! Have a nice #hacking day! !gnusocial !hackfest

Taking a break from the !hackfest for a while, gotta do the walkies with @makitadoge!

HAH, best !gnusocial !hackfest fix so far. Added a GS_DataObject class which does a #MITM on the DB_DataObject class and wraps the calls in an error_reporting() & ~E_STRICT!
Now, instead of an endless stream of PEAR::DB warnings, we get to see our _own_ coding errors!

Useful tool for the !hackfest: scripts/createsim.php in the !gnusocial source "creates a lot of test users and notices to (loosely) simulate a real server".

I'm looking into #Diaspora protocol stuff for the !hackfest but I can't seem to do a non-hacky method of looking up the profile's feeds etc. based on their URL. No metadata is embedded in GET or HEAD data from, say, http://status.hackerposse.com/url/7423 and a #WebFinger lookup on their server doesn't reveal data unless I use an acct: URI (http://status.hackerposse.com…

Um, wat. http://sn.chromic.org/main/sup !gnusocial !hackfest (but seriously, what is this?)

I have a few wording suggestions to make the default classic !gnusocial interface less "corporate":
- use "friends" instead of "colleagues" (or at least add also "friends" when only "colleagues" are mentioned)
- use "People" instead of "User directory"
What about it? !hackfest

New merge request, added the ChooseTheme plugin. Hope it will get into the !gnusocial repo. !hackfest - https://git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social/merge_requests/9

Testing a silly thing for the !hackfest

Join us for the first GNU Social Hackfest on June 6/7 to improve GNU Social usability and consistency! It will take place throughout the !fediverse, which means you can participate remotely: just follow the !hackfest group and see what's going on! Do you feel like coding? Get started by creating an account at http://status.hackerposse.com/url/7306 Then, during the hackfest you can…

#FIXME for !hackfest - put a signature à la #Diaspora on outgoing salmon XML etc.

!gnusocial !hackfest merge requests so far in queue are all merged - thanks to:
@marcus@gnusocial.ch @tuttle@somsants.net @knuthollund@quitter.no @aroque@gnusocial.no (I think that's all?)

I just refactored some stuff so latest #nightly of !gnusocial can show remote profiles by accessing /user/:id where :id is the profile ID. #ModPlus also rewritten to make use of this. Also smarter code reuse in profile presentation pages. !hackfest :]

Oh, I also ran SchemaSpy on the DB a while back. Makes a decent reference. http://sandbox.chromic.org/gs-hackfest/sql/index.html !hackfest
