@jim It will run until it stops ;). Some people use a cronjob to stop and restart it a few times a day. Some people use Monit.
-
@jim I see this now
-
@whistlewright you are right. I don’t see your mention of me in my timelines.
-
!feds the new @jim instance has three subs from three different instances and was able to sub to the !feds group. I am not federating as near as I can tell but at least I am making progress.
-
ok just got the first sub on the new-new sn. Will figure out the xmpp now. !feds
-
Private will not federate at all, the others will. Community may have a little more privacy than single or public. This may help you some: http://url.jpope.org/pp
-
!feds when setting up a statusnet instance should I go with private, community, public, or singleuser. Well I know singleuser is out. Public maybe?
-
@chimo ModPlus may be a little much for a single user instance. Not sure though, I haven’t even tried that one. ;)
-
@chimo I use the Blacklist plugin to block people from my instance. I’ve got a very trollish identicat blocked from mine. cc: @parlementum
-
@lnxwalt300 @chimo problem is I can’t remember how to enable it, nor do I see it in my config or admin panels. :)
-
@chimo for example: http://parlementum.net/url/1748829
-
@jk Certainly could be, I’ll have to revisit all my settings and blog post to remember exactly how I got it set up.
-
@lnxwalt280 I found an admin panel that may do what we need. You and @jk can try following again
-
@lnxwalt280 ok tell me how to change it… Is that in the admin panel somewhere?
-
Yes. Is that bad? and can it be changed if it is?
-
@jim @whistlewright woot!
-
@jk My instance is up, near as I can tell. I need to get xmpp working and the fb and t bridges but that shouldn’t affect the outside world too much. Then again, I never thought the .htaccess would kill it either
-
@lnxwalt280 @whistlewright agreed “/mu”
-
Thanks Jeff… changing it to /mu/ fixed it. I can even get into the admin pages now… whew! panic averted
-
ok here’s the deal— I think the trouble is with .htaccess and the fact that I am running from a home directory. The URL is http://aw.a2c3.co/mu for the SN site. The name of my SN is mublog and the directory it is hiding in is /home/namecensored/public_html/anothercensored/mu/ Wht should the RewriteBase look like?
